In 2024 nearly 300 million people will need humanitarian assistance. The magnitude of this need is not lost on multi-sector development and humanitarian stakeholders. There is a nearly-universal understanding that the current development model is not capable of meeting these needs. It will take collective action and a re-aligning of global and local leadership into a “new public health order.” But in a time of global political uncertainty, bilateral focus on billion-dollar disasters and internal needs, and post-pandemic mistrust and self-interest, how do you build relationships that are respectful and capitalize on mutual strengths?
